Be sure to give your vacation rental a name.
Everything in life that is important has its own name. People have names. Special events have names. Special places are always named. Make your vacation home special by giving it a name. Renters like it and it makes your vacation home stand out and easy to remember. People don't just tell their friends "We rented a great house in the Florida Keys;" people like to brag a little saying "We stayed at Paradise Palms in the Florida Keys." That leaves a much better image in the mind than just saying "We rented a house in Florida."
Names are memorable, addresses are not.
A name helps renters find your vacation home when searching on the internet, and trust me; renters do look for vacation rental homes by name. Word of mouth is huge. If they heard of your home from a relative or friend who was a previous guest, or they saw your home once before while searching online and are trying to find it again, they can find it much more easily if they remembered it by name. It is much easier to search for Captain Nemo's Villa than a 7 bedroom Orlando vacation home.
What name should you choose?
Think about what you like best about your vacation rental and see if that gives you an idea for a name. Try to find a name that is not already used by someone else. Some homeowners use their street, subdivision, community, or first or last name as part of their vacation rental's name. Whatever you choose make sure it is easy to say and spell so renters can remember it easily.
Have some fun choosing a name for your vacation rentals.
Homeowners in the Disney area are a good example of this. The Orlando area is one of the few places in the world where you can call your vacation rental "The Mouse House" and people don't think you have rodents.
A good name creates an image and makes renters think, "I would like to experience that!" A vacation is about living a dream so make your vacation home special place of dreams by bestowing it with a name.
